Flying stones can easily crack or chip windshields on vehicles. This is especially common on a busy highway where cars passing over loose debris at speed can cause small stones to behave like little bullets. The damaged windows can be repaired by handy windshield crack repair kits.

The level of damage caused by these flying objects will vary. A minor chip or some small cracks can be fixed at home using a kit. Any excess resin must be removed. The section that was treated needs to be polished so that it can blend in with the glass. The damaged area will barely be noticeable if the work was of a high standard.

The best type of resin for this work is crystalline resin. Acrylic resin can also be used but this does yellow over a period of time. The acid content of acrylic resin is responsible for the discoloration. The syringe style products are disposable. They are disposed of after each repair job.
